Dining at Meridian

Dining at Meridian is truly a pleasurable experience and one that's full of choices. You can choose to dine with friends and neighbors or entertain family and guests in our beautifully appointed Dining Room where our friendly and professional waitstaff welcome you to each dining experience.

Our restaurant style menu offers you the choice of a number of inviting entrée selections or, if you prefer, you may choose the Featured Entrée. Click to view menu.

To compliment your entrée or as a light fare meal, there is our complete Salad Bar with offerings of seasonal greens, fruits, vegetables, one or more prepared salads and homemade soups and breads.

Imaginative Theme, Special Event, Candlelight and Wine Dinners and Sunday Brunch also are favorites with our residents.

Of course, you always have the option of preparing meals yourself in the fully equipped kitchen in your apartment. And, when you wish to entertain privately, but prefer not to cook, our Private Dining Room is available to enjoy a catered meal or a private party with your friends.

With Meridian's flexible Dining Program, you decide when you will dine with us and pay only for those meals.

Activities

As comfortable as you will be in your apartment at Meridian, you will want to become involved in the fun and exciting happenings our Communities have to offer from morning to evening.

You might enjoy a favorite book from the library, or decide to join one of the many classes offered at our Communities. Perhaps you would enjoy demonstrating your skills at bridge, pinochle, rummy or canasta in the Game Room. Or, you may want to join Body Works!™ another unique Meridian program where "Making Your Body Work For You" becomes not just a goal but a reality. Tai Chi, Yoga and fitness classes also are scheduled for your enjoyment as well as to improve your physical and mental well-being.

Morning and afternoon coffee and refreshments in the Hospitality Bar offer a great opportunity for mingling with friends or for joining in a discussion of current events, upcoming activities or trips.

Whether you enjoy the outdoors, the theater or other cultural events or dining at one of your favorite restaurants, you will find something of interest on our Events Calendar. Our scheduled transportation program makes your participation even easier.

There also are opportunities for your new or continued involvement in the local community. Many of our residents participate in volunteer work with their local charities or with local service organizations. And we welcome your participation on resident committees.

Housekeeping and Home Maintenance

To assist you in maintaining your home in the manner you are accustomed, your apartment will be cleaned by our housekeeping staff every other week. Weekly flat linen service also is provided for you. And, for your convenience, there are laundry rooms for your use in laundering your personal items.

If you need help to hang your mirrors or artwork, change a hard to reach light bulb or repair a major appliance, our Plant Operations staff is available to help you with these chores. These same staff members also are responsible for maintaining each Meridian Community in a First Class condition and for assuring the continuing beauty of the grounds that surround each of our Communities.

Health Safety Net™

You deserve the peace of mind knowing that, if your health needs change, there are a variety of services available to meet those needs. At Meridian, we call these services our Health Safety Net.

The newest addition to our Health Safety Net is our unique Body Works!™ Program where Making Your Body Work for You becomes a reality. A variety of fitness and other classes also are available to maintain and improve your overall well-being.

Preventive Screenings are scheduled on a regular basis throughout the year to assist you in monitoring your health status. Assessments by our full-time Health Services Director, along with seminars on current health topics, also assist you in making improvements in your personal health and sense of well-being at our Communities.

You will also find the assistance of the Health Services Director at your Community invaluable in helping you navigate today's increasingly complex health care system so that you receive the care or services you need when you are hospitalized or experience a health challenge.

And when you need some limited assistance when recovering from a minor illness or a hospital stay, our Independence Plus® services are there to speed your recovery. Independence Plus services also are available to provide you that little extra help you may need during the day and early evening hours in your Independent Living apartment at Meridian Retirement Communities.

You also will find the rehabilitation program offered at our Communities, including the physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy sessions, which is enhanced by our unique Carryover Program, another important part of our Health Safety Net.

If there comes a time when, on a short or long term basis, you would benefit from health care or other supportive services that we do not offer at Meridian Retirement Communities, you can use your accrued Health Care Days at one of our Meridian Health Centers.

Adding to your peace of mind is an emergency alert cord in your apartment to assist you in summoning assistance in case of an emergency.

And to better assure the continuity, consistency and quality of the services offered under our Health Safety Net, we use our own staff and consultants to provide these services to you - all of whom share a commitment to our First Class standard.

Our Health Safety Net provides you meaningful choices as well as flexible, convenient and quality services to enhance your physical and mental well-being and the quality of your life at a Meridian Retirement Community.

Move-In Assistance

If you like what you're learning about Meridian Retirement Communities but feel daunted by the prospect of the move itself, our Fast Track Program is there for you! We also offer a variety of other services designed to simplify your move to a Meridian Retirement Community.

Our Home Sale Assistance Program will connect you with a reputable realtor, estate liquidator and mover - all of whom have assisted many of our residents. We also provide assistance with setting up new services, such as your address change to the Meridian Retirement Community you select.
